We believe the reason God started Quest Community Church and is still working through us is because we put all of our efforts towards one mission: transforming unconvinced people into wholehearted followers of Jesus.
Here are just a few stories of life change that Quest has been blessed to be a part of.
The Good News
Long before you were born, the Bible says that God knew you and crafted you to experience His love. No matter what has happened to you since the moment you were born, God’s design for your life pre-dates your birth.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ.Ephesians 1:4 MSG
Your primary purpose is to be the focus of God’s love. He has never lost sight of your original purpose: you were made to be loved. He tells us that He doesn’t want you to spend your life trying to earn His love or approval – you already have it. Nor does He want you to live in fear of letting Him rule over your life as God. His love is meant to be the initiator of everything in your life.
I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end – because I am God, your personal God…Isaiah 43:1-2 (MSG)
Instead of embracing that purpose, we have each gone our own way and attempted to generate our purpose, charting our own self-made path. That decision is the basis of what the Bible describes as sin – and it’s had profound effects in our lives, most noticeably separating us from a relationship with God. But God hasn’t left you alone. He has tried to make His heart clear to you: through goodness and blessing, through answered prayers, through people, even through unlikely circumstances.
His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him – though he is not far from any one of us.Acts 17:27 (MSG)
No matter where you are or what you’ve done, you are not out of God’s reach. His goal is to reveal His heart and the way back to relationship. To do so, each of us has to come grips with our need for God’s love and leadership in our lives, admitting our sin and surrendering our lives back to Him.
God’s pursuit took on a name: Jesus of Nazareth. The Bible declares that He is the greatest revelation of the heart of God. The most famous Bible verse explains the purpose of God in sending Jesus:
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (MSG)
The best news ever given to planet earth is that God the Father, who had forever lived in perfect unity with the Son, Jesus, did the unthinkable and allowed His Son to be crucified and killed in your place. The sin debt we owe is so monstrous that only a sinless, perfect sacrifice would atone for it. Only one person qualified; only one person volunteered: Jesus. No matter where you are or what you’ve done, you are not out of God’s reach. His goal is to reveal His heart and the way back to relationship. To do so, each of us has to come grips with our need for God’s love and leadership in our lives, admitting our sin and surrendering our lives back to Him.
The God of the Universe has offered you the most expensive gift ever given. Now, He waits for your response.
He invites you to surrender control of your life and become the object of His love again. He has done all He can do to win your heart. The Gospel is this: God put His heart on a cross in Jesus Christ and waits for you to decide what to do with yours.
If you are ready to respond to this offer, if you sense God’s pursuit of love and are ready to surrender and begin a relationship, with Him, pray these words:
Father in heaven, thank you for loving me and for pursuing me.
Jesus, I surrender to your pursuit today, and I put my trust in You.
Please forgive all my sins and wash me clean by the power of the cross.
I invite you to come into my heart. I receive your offer of a fresh start.
Please make me new by the power of your love.
Jesus, I surrender to you. Be my Leader and Lord.
I will follow you all the days of my life. Thank you for pursuing and loving me.
I belong to you now, God, and I pray this in Jesus’ name.
