2018 Short Term Missions Trips

In 2018 the Global Missions Team is providing opportunities for students and adults to reach beyond themselves and impact the world. Trips of varying exposure and intensity will allow you to use the gifts God’s given you and to connect your heart with His.

Quest Trip Levels


  • 101 Level

    Local to USA. Relief trips or local missions.

  • 201 Level

    Requires passport, possibly immunizations. Under $2,000

  • 301 Level

    Requires passport, possibly immunizations. $2,000 or more. May present challenging physical accommodations.

  • 401 Level

    Similar to 301 and Christians in the area may face persecution.

Cuba Partnership Exploration Trip 2018

Cuba Demographics:

  • 11 million people in the country of Cuba
  • Primary language of Cuba is Spanish with Haitian Creole as the second most spoken language
  • Roman Catholicism is the largest religion
  • The Republic of Cuba is one of the world’s last remaining socialist countries

  • Trip Purpose:
    • Partnership Exploration for future engagement from our church through prayer, financial support, and short term teams.
    • In conjunction with other C&MA churches and the Denominational Partnership enacted in 2017
    • We have been invited by Christ Community Church, Omaha NE, to explore how US C&MA churches can help the church planting efforts in Cuba now that the country is open to US visitors.

Trip Partnership/Site/Organization Host Information:

  • We will tour multiple church plants of C&MA churches throughout Cuba
  • Christ Community Church, Omaha NE, is organizing the trip and inviting key churches to come be apart of the vision tour.
  • Tourist travel to Cuba still remains to be banned by the USA.  We will be traveling via an invitation from the C&MA church of Cuba on a religious visa which is allowed.

Team Timeline:

  • March 11th – Applications due
  • March 11th – Passport in hand
  • March 18th – Final Payment due ($1,600 to cover complete costs)
  • March 22nd – Informational meeting
  • April 22nd – Departure date (Flight information TBD)
  • April 27th – Return date (Flight information TBD)

Team Member Requirements:

  • Passport and Visa required prior to airfare purchase (expense in addition to trip cost)
  • Immunizations as required by the country or by the team (expense in addition to trip cost)
  • 10% of trip cost paid personally by each team member (This will engage your heart not just your body. The scripture says “Where your treasure is there your heart will be also.”)
  • A commitment to complete payment after the initial deposit is made. (Each team member is encouraged to invite in a “Sending Team” to help send you with financial and prayer support. The difference will be covered personally by the team member.)
  • Provide Credit or Debit Card information to the church finance office along with your deposit to secure your spot on the trip. This will allow for timely payments to be made if appropriate support raising has not been reached. Card balances will be credited or debited after the trip based on the support raised.
  • A commitment to followership and personal integrity while preparing for, during, and after the trip.
  • Each team member must read and agree to by signing a copy of the Quest Mission Trip Policy prior to departure.

Uganda Construction Trip 2018

Trip Information:

  • Classification: 301 Level – Requires passport, immunizations, trip cost is $2,000 or more, challenging physical accommodations
  • Where: Uganda, Africa
  • Dates: June 28 – July 12, 2018
  • Cost: $3,000
  • Ages: 14 and up
  • Team Size: 10 – 20 people
  • Ministry Sponsor: Global Missions
  • Trip Purpose:
    • Invest spiritually in the next generation of both African and American men to strengthen their lives and the church.
    • Help fathers and male mentors in Africa and America learn how to invest in the next generation
    • Construct a building for a new church plant in Eastern Uganda and increase male involvement in the church in Uganda.

Trip Partnership/Site/Organization Host Information:

  • This is a partnership with the Wesleyan Church of Uganda and Adopt Uganda to develop ministry and church planting efforts in new areas in Eastern Uganda.
  • This will be our 2nd trip to this area and we’re glad to be able to invest in the ministry there.  The Wesleyan Church has developed a school, orphanage, pastoral training center, and church planting efforts in Busia, Uganda that make them an extremely strong partner and investment for missions outreach.
  • Great opportunity for fathers to invest in their sons, and mentors to those they are wanting to disciple.

  • Widespread poverty and under resourced urban and rural areas

Jordan Outreach Trip 2018

Jordan Demographics:

  • 9.5 million people in Jordan
  • 1.4 million people of the Jordan population are refugees
  • 97.2% Muslim
  • Jordan is bordered by Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia

  • Trip Purpose:
    • This week will conclude the ministries summer programs of outreach to kids and adults in Amman.
    • We will be teaching english as a second language outreach classes to adults.
    • Distributing donated materials to Syrian refugee families in need
    • Partnering with the C&MA refugee crisis ministries already in place

Trip Partnership/Site/Organization Host Information:

  • The Christian & Missionary Alliance missionaries in Jordan are reaching out to Muslims in that area through church planting and humanitarian services.
  • We will be partnering with the in C&MA missionaries in Jordan to provide resources that refugee families are unable to supply for themselves. By meeting their physical needs, we also hope to get to know these families on an emotional and spiritual level.
  • Relief efforts continue from the refugee crisis in the area.  Volunteer workers are needed to help distribute relief supplies and to pray with families that have been displaced.

India / Nepal 2018 Vocational Training Trip 2018

Trip Information:

  • Classification: 401 Level – Requires passport, possible immunizations, trip cost is over $2,000, may present challenging physical accommodations, and Christians in the area may face persecution.
  • Where: Kolkata, West Bengal, India
  • Team Leader: TBD
  • Dates: October 19 – November 3, 2018
  • Cost: $3,400
  • Ages: 18 and up
  • Team Size: 6 – 8
  • Ministry Sponsor: Global Missions
  • Trip Purpose:
    • Conduct vocational training for key and upcoming leaders to help them become self sufficient in a local trade.
    • Job skills include:  plumbing, electrical, sewing, beautician, & business management
    • Invest in local church planters and leaders in their ministry context.
    • Explore possibilities of ongoing vocational training for future students and church leaders.

Trip Partnership/Site/Organization Host Information:

  • We will be hosted by key church planting organizations in India and Nepal.
  • This short term team will serve as a great opportunity to celebrate the work being done and the relationships that have been formed in India over the last ten years.  They will also be partnering with a new location for us in Hetauda, Nepal
  • The Vocational Training school will happen in India and then be transported to Nepal to teach the same curriculum.

West Bengal, India Demographics:

  • 94 million people in West Bengal alone
  • West Bengal is 85% the size of Kentucky
  • <1% of population is Christian
  • Christians are persecuted for their faith and have to rebuild their lives vocationaly and socially through the church.  

Nepal Demographics:

  • 28.7 million people
  • <1% of the population is Christian
  • At one time was the world’s only declared Hindu nation. Now is classified as a secular nation.
  • 343 of the 352 people groups are unreached with the gospel
  • In the most recent years responsiveness to the Gospel and church growth is extremely high

Green Mountains Partnership Exploration Trip 2018

Area Demographics:

  • Eurasia is a geographical location denoting the area where Europe and Asia come together.  This area of the world is a blend of both, and has deep ancient religious and nationalist roots.
  • This area of the world has a vast variety of religions represented.  
  • For many their religious experience is mostly as expression of nationalism and cultural identity, not one of a living spiritual faith.

  • Trip Purpose:
    • Partnership Exploration for future engagement from our church through prayer, financial support, and short term teams.
    • We have been invited by our C&MA missionaries in this closed access country to come and see the work happening there and to pray about how we can partner with them.

  • This vision trip will tour the work being done and build relationships with key leaders that are establishing churches and outreach in the area.
  • This creative evangelistic outreach is in a relatively new field of the Alliance that is only 6 years old.

Guatemala 2019
Compassion International Partnership Trip

Trip Information:

  • Classification: 201 Level- Requires passport, immunizations, trip cost is $2,000 or less
  • Where: Santa Cruz del Quiche, Guatemala
  • Team Leader: Brian Classen
  • Dates: June 2019
  • Cost: TBD
  • Ages: All ages welcome with accompanying adult.
  • Team Size: 30
  • Ministry Sponsor: Global Missions
  • Trip Purpose:
    • Visit Compassion sponsored kids in the partnering village of Quiche, Guatemala.
    • Expose Questers to God’s heart for the world and missions outreach.
    • Build relationships and partner with local churches in Guatemala.
    • This trip is a perfect onramp to missions for an individual or a family.

Trip Partnership/Site/Organization Host Information:

  • Quest partners with Compassion International to sponsor kids in Central Guatemala.  
  • Compassion exists to release children from poverty in Jesus name.  They partner with indigenous local churches for effective child development.  
  • This particular Compassion Project was new in 2017.  We will be visiting sponsored compassion kids in their homes, touring their school, and the local church in Quiche.

  • Christianity is the most widely professed religion
  • Guatemala has among the worst health outcomes in Latin America with some of the highest infant mortality rates, and one of the lowest life expectancies for kids in the region.
